Fri, 25 January 2008 On these cold dark days of Winter, the warm months of June, July, August, and Sept. may seem to be further away than you could possibly reach. That's why it's so important to think about them now. And we've got something for you to look forward to. If you've been a friend of All WNY Radio for a while, you probably know about our Summer House Parties. Maybe you've been to one. Maybe you've heard stories. Maybe you've seen pictures. They really do live up to the hype. And the reason they live up to the hype is becuase All WNY Radio, with a shitload of help from our friends Thieves Guild Productions, puts a lot of planning and effort into these parties. We get three or four bands. Put 'em on stage. Surround 'em with fans. Add alcohol, mix and serve ... It's the stuff legends are made of. For 2008, we'll be starting in June. June 1st to be exact. We'll also have parties on July 6th, August 3rd, and September 7th. Previous artists to grace the stage at All WNY Radio's outdoor "studio" in Lockport have included: The Gravity Thieves, Dark Morning, Amnesty Box, Fun Button, Lower Town Trio, ThinkSoBrain, Bob Z, Last of the Lost, HeadFake, A2J, Dopey Joe, Beggars Best, Seizure 17, Swingin' Diamonds, Serenity Falls, Fresh Guac, Addictive Tragedy and the Magic Tonez. Plus we've had comedians, karaoke, and more. We thought we'd start the hunt NOW for bands for House Parties Nine (IX) through Twelve (XII). Want to play? Hit us up. We'll throw in a couple of our faves from previous years, and lots of new bands, too. We're looking for somewhere between 12 and 16 bands for the summer. ALL GENRES. Rock, Country, Hip Hop. Jazz. You name it. The pay sucks (get paid in food and drink) but we can almost gaurantee a good time ... And for your fans, there's no cover ... and we won't soak 'em on the prices of food and drink. Plus, we broadcast the whole thing on the Internet, so your friends from Kansas (or wherever) can finally hear you play a live show. We want to get the whole season booked by April ... so don't delay. Hit us up and we'll see if you're right for All WNY Radio's House Parties ... Category: general -- posted at: 7:39 AM Comments[0] |
Thu, 6 December 2007 Just as an FYI, All WNY Radio has a bunch of new photos up on Webshots.com ... Click here for photos from Noah's Ark last night ... and here for our general account. More photos will be added regularly. Category: general -- posted at: 2:00 PM Comments[0] |
Sun, 4 November 2007 For the sake of good sound, we've made the "listen" link at All WNY Radio . com permanent. If you have previously downloaded the Radio Destiny Media player, clicking the link will open it and tune you to All WNY Radio. If you haven't downloaded the media player - you should. Download it (here). I promise it's neither adware nor bloatware. It's JUST a media player ... and it works. It provides CD quality sound. The webstream is much lower quality, so we've discontinued linking to it. Of course, we'll continue to put all the podcasts here, too ... Category: general -- posted at: 8:00 AM Comments[0] |
Mon, 2 April 2007 Pictures of the nearly-completed All WNY Radio studio are now available on our MySpace page. Hopefully within the next couple weeks we'll have musicians in there every week jamming live on the internet. We've secured several new advertisers to make sure we have the funds needed to run the "Streetview Interview" for the immediate future. Thanks to the Winery At Marjim Manor, Club 435, A&K Topsoil Services, All Pro Home Inspection, and Tone Doctors for their newfound (or continued) support of All WNY Radio and the local music scene. More sponsors are needed to ensure the success of All WNY Radio and the "Streetview Interview." If you own a business or know someone who does, please contact us about helping to promote the local music scene. Category: general -- posted at: 5:02 PM Comments[0] |
Wed, 28 February 2007 All WNY Radio is proud to announce we now have a real home. We'll be moving into our streetview studio on Kenmore Avenue within the next few weeks and will soon be booking bands for live-to-air jam sessions and interviews. A related side note: Bands looking for practice space, we know of some great spaces that are inexpensive and very accessable. Looking for a spot? Let us know and we'll get you the details. Thu, 15 February 2007 Al Gore plans a 24 hour concert - taking place four hours at a time - on all seven continents. The all-star lineup is astounding. He's still looking for a US city. How about Rochester? Category: general -- posted at: 2:54 PM Comments[0] |
Thu, 15 February 2007 All WNY Radio has a great idea for a fundraiser for a local organization in great need. What we need is a local high school to perform a kick@ss concert at. And we need to be able to do it free of charge. Also, we need bands who would be willing to do the concert free of charge. I'm thinking there should be no less than a dozen ... all genres. This event will generate a great deal of publicity, so imagine that you'd be getting paid in press. But first - a high school? email me if you've got any ideas. Wed, 14 February 2007 At the beginning of the hockey season, we talked with a couple people about developing a weekly Sabres show - or a daily update - or something to do with our favorite hockey team. For one reason or another, none of those things came to fruition. Anyone out there want to do it? Either a half hour (or longer) weekly show about the Sabres. Or a daily update on the team/standings/injuries, etc. You could talk about whatever you wanted. Interview players. Interview other fans? The only pure requirement is that it be consistent. Every week if it's long-form. Every X if it's short form. X could be daily. X could be M-W-F. X could be whatever. I just ask for consistency. Get back at us if you're interested.
